No prior experience is necessary! Our program welcomes all levels. The only requirement is a willingness to try.

No audition is needed to join the Musical Theater Showcase, but all actors will audition in the first few weeks of class to determine roles. Micaela will guide you through the process, which includes performing a short excerpt from the show in front of the cast.

Signing up for the Musical Theater Showcase means joining the cast as an ensemble member. While solos are not guaranteed, every performer will be featured in a way that highlights their strengths.

In addition to the weekly rehearsal, students are expected to practice at home—memorizing lyrics, rehearsing choreography, and reviewing harmonies.

Each actor is responsible for learning their music and practicing choreography once it has been taught. If a student misses a rehearsal, they must use provided rehearsal videos or contact the director to catch up. Staying prepared ensures a strong and cohesive production.

Musical theater is a team effort, and every cast member plays a crucial role. Missing rehearsals affects the entire ensemble, making it harder to maintain progress. We ask that students prioritize attending rehearsals on time and fully prepared.

Tech rehearsals are essential in the final days leading up to the performance. These rehearsals allow actors to adjust to onstage changes, finalize blocking, and practice in costume with full production elements, ensuring a successful performance.

One week before rehearsals begin, Micaela will send a welcome email with a link to the Google Classroom. This platform serves as a central hub for practice materials, including music, choreography videos, director notes, and important updates.

Yes, families are responsible for providing their child’s costume. For a showcase, this typically includes neutral-colored pants or jeans, a solid-colored shirt, and select accessories.

Ticket information will be sent out 1–2 months before the performance.
